The management and staff of Golf & Turf Machinery are delighted to announce that as from 21st November 2011 Golf & Turf Machinery will become a division of Platts Harris Limited which is part of the Lookers plc.
Golf & Turf Machinery based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire will continue to provide sales, spare parts, service and hire of groundcare machinery to professional users in the counties of North, South and West Yorkshire.
It was announced by the Directors of both Golf & Turf Machinery Ltd and Platts Harris Ltd:
Platts Harris Ltd have acquired the assets and trading style of Golf & Turf Machinery, this new venture is part of Lookers plc’s on going acquisition strategy. It will strengthen our presence in the groundcare sector and we look forward to our future together. The change of ownership will strengthen our company by being part of a much larger organisation. Platts Harris Ltd are a subsidiary of Lookers plc who had a turnover in 2010 of approximately £2 billion and pre-tax profits of over £30 million.
Day to Day
The day to day running of the business will remain unchanged including; staff, telephone numbers, email, fax and website address so we can continue to give you our valued customer, the same high level of service you have always enjoyed.
Accounts & Sales Administration
The accounts and sales administration will be handled by our Tuxford branch which is located at 34 Eldon Street, Tuxford, Newark, Notts, NG22 0LH.

Etesia appoints new dealer for Yorkshire
Etesia UK is excited to announce the appointment of Golf and Turf Machinery (A Trading Division of Platts Harris Limited and a Subsidiary of Lookers PLC) based in Wakefield, Yorkshire, as their new dealer for the full range of Etesia and Pellenc grounds care equipment, covering the whole of the County of Yorkshire.
Etesia Northern Sales Manager, Andrew Roberts, has been working hard over the last few months in recruiting new Etesia & Pellenc dealers and has seen a significant rise in the number of new dealer appointments in his region.
Strategically placed in Wakefield with Depots also in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, GTM has a turnover of £5million + in groundscare sales alone. A dedicated showroom with 20 staff in the groundcare division ensure sales, spare parts and hire of specialist grounds care machinery to professional users throughout Yorkshire.
“We had gap in our current product range, so we decided to test both Etesia & Pellenc products extensively before committing to becoming a dealer,” said Glen Saywer, GTM Sales Manager. “We also spoke to customers to get their feedback, before travelling down to Shenington where we were suitably impressed with the Etesia staff’s knowledge and professionalism. I knew Andrew from his previous job and knew we could work with together and trust him.
“We like to think that we are a forward thinking dealer and always looking for new & exciting products on the market which make our customers lives easier.
